Garland Clarkson Wright, Jr., 49, of Roanoke passed away Friday, March 25, 2011. He served in the United States Navy and had worked as an Electrician. He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Clarkson Wright, Sr.; and grandparents, Bede and Everette Jones, and Bessie Wright. Surviving is his daughter, Lauryn Autumn Marshall; mother, Thelma Altizer Body of Roanoke; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and William Bowser; Denise Ingram all of Ohio; Donna and Joe Paradiso; Dana and Bobby Robertson all of Roanoke; nieces and nephews, Brian and Phillip Bowser; Haley and Chris Ingram; Mark and Francesco Paradiso and Tori Robertson; grandchildren, Olivia and Isabella Marshall. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a memorials be made to a veterans organizatoin of the donor's choice. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends following the service.
