James E. Hurt, III 46 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord Friday, March 25, 2011. James was preceded by his loving father James E, Hurt Jr., grandfather, James E. Hurt, Sr., step grandfather, Lathan Page, grandmother and grandfather, Virginia and Frank B. Shorter.
Surviving are his loving mother, Kathryn Shorter Hurt of Roanoke; sisters, Melinda Branch and husband Patrick of Virginia Beach, Deborah Joyce and husband Darrell, Tina Eastwood and husband Andrew both of Roanoke; brother, Mark Hurt and wife Tiffany of IN.; grandmother, Mary Page of Roanoke; special aunts, uncles and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins. The family would like to thank special friends Peggy, Tuck, Joyce, Kim and Shelia. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 6 - 8pm at Simpson Funeral Home. Services celebrating James's life will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Washington Officiating. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
