Edward Timothy (Timmy) Goad, 44, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Floyd Goad Sr. and Bonnie Tolbert Hardy, and a brother, James Floyd Goad, Jr. Timmy was an avid fisherman and Nascar fan. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Surviving are his sister, Loretta (Sissy) Roberts and husband James of Troutville; step father, Luther Hardy and wife Joyce, of Roanoke; nephews, Mark C. Mitchell, Gary Wayne Mitchell, Brian Keith Mithcell; great nephews, Dakoda Mitchell, Logan A. Mitchell; great niece, Hannah Ragan Mitchell; girlfriend, Teresa Reed; his devoted dog and best friend, Skippy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission 402 4th Street S. E. Roanoke, Virginia 24013. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Matt King. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
