James A. Camden, Sr. 62, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Davis Camden, mother, Elsie R. Camden, brother, Melvin Lee Camden, Jr. and sister, Betty M. Tomlin. Surviving are his brothers, John H. Camden and Michael S. Camden; sisters, Lula Deel, Ollie Smith and Virginia Wells. Also surviving are his loving wife, Shirley J. Camden; loving son and daughter-in-law, James, Jr. and Jennifer Camden; three special grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Chaplain Troy Mays. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
