Michael N. "Old Man" Cross, 73, of Roanoke, Va. passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, after a long battle with ALS. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vera Cross; son, David Lee St. Clair and a sister Beverly Cross. Mr. Cross was a retired professional painter. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Cross; children, Mike "JR" Cross and wife Linda, Louie Cross and wife Lelia, William Cross and wife Peggy, Peter Cross, John Dale Cross and wife Marcy, Patrick Wayne Cross and Mikey Cross; former wife and companion, Elizabeth Cross Burr; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers, Peter Cross and wife Robin and Bernard Cross and wife Lei. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Foundation. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday February 12, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. R. Paul Henrickson.
