Thomas Raymond Weimann, 84, of Catawba, VA, passed away peacefully on January, 26, 2011. He was born on March 18, 1926 in Irvington, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline; daughter Eileen Sterling and husband Brian; daughter Kathleen Toole; daughter Sharon Karst and husband Frank; daughter Ruth Clark and husband Thomas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a very special nephew, Thomas Hoffmann, whom he love like a brother and his wife Elaine; numerous nieces and nephews. During WWII, Tome served in the US Merchant Marines aboard the US Army Hospital ship Frances Y. Slanger. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific War Zones. Throughout his life he served his community. He was a member of both the Hazlet, NJ First Aid and Rescue Squad and Hazlet Auxiliary Police Force. He was an excellent marksman and received many award in competitions for his expert skill. He was retired from the Pabst Brewing Company and in later years made his home in SW Virginia. Special thanks to the staff of The Oaks at Richfield Retirement Community for their love and wonderful care during the past three years. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, 2/2/11 from 2 until 4 pm at Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 5160 Peters Creek Road. The funeral mass will be held 11am on Thursday 2/3/11, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 314 Turner Road, Salem, Va. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory 540-366-0707.
