Bobby Edward Lugar 79 of Vinton departed this life Monday January 17, 2011. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 60 years, Agnes M. Bratton; parents, Angus C. Lugar and Wilma I. Lawson; brother, Boyd Lugar and a brother-in-law, Frank Phlegar. He was a Korean War Veteran that served with the United States Navy and retired from Safety Kleen Corp. as Branch Manager. Was a very active man and he loved to fish, golf, bowl, collect trains and travel. He was also a sandlot football coach for many years and loved the Texas Tavern. Surviving are his three sons, Steve and wife Becky, Danny and wife Mary, Kirk and wife Jill; daughter, Judy; grandchildren, Russell, Stefanie, Tamara, Kimberly, Kara, Ashley, Mandy, Kirsten, Brianna; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Hayate, Danielle, Akashi, Dylan; brother, Jerry Lugar and wife Gloria; sister, Frances Phlegar along with many other relatives and friends. His family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and prayers during this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity in his name. Service celebrating his life will be held 4:00pm Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service Thursday. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory. 540-366-0707.
