Jean Hampton Dickson, 82, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 6, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Howard Kenneth Dickson, Sr.; son, Howard Kenneth "Ken" Dickson, Jr. and wife Karen of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Vickie D. Hoffler and husband Charles of Vinton; grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, and Aaron Dickson, Tiffany Faw and husband Scott, Christi Lyons and husband Joey, Tobi Helton and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Brock, Mitch, and Amelia Faw, Eliana Lyons, Brian, Michael, and Matthew Helton. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Thomas Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Charles Hoffler and the Rev. Joey Lyons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
