Kenneth Lee Tolbert, 71, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Tolbert, sister Phyllis Tolbert and a daughter, Sherry Schimmerman. Mr. Tolbert was a past Master of Boone Lodge # 247 AF & AM and Taylor Lodge # 23 AF & AM. He served in the U S Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of Northview United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Janet Angell Tolbert, children, Michelle (Mickey) Lionberger and husband Chuck of Roanoke; Kenneth Dwayne Tolbert and wife Chara of Fincastle; numerous grandchildren including, Harrison, Ian, and Gillian Lionberger, Cheve Tolbert and Alexis Wilson; step mother, Lasca Tolbert of Roanoke; step brothers, Danny W. Taylor and wife Ginger also of Roanoke; Ronnie L. Taylor and wife Judy of Greensboro; and brother, William Dean Tolbert of Huntington, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the General and Brotherly Love Fund C/O Boone Masonic Lodge P O Box 415 Troutville, Virginia 24175. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Bart Weakley. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010, and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be presented by Boone Lodge at 5 p.m. immediately following the visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
