Obituary of Margaret Mathena

Margaret F. Mathena 66 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 23, 2010. She was preceded by her parents, Dale and Pearlie Mae Nalon Mathena and a brother, Marvin Mathena.
Margaret has a degree in Child Devolopment and was attending Virginia Western Community College earning a degree in Literature to write children's books.
Surviving are her sons, Clifton D. Mathena, Timothy M. Mathena; nephews, Rocky M. Mathena, Jeremiah Mathena and wife Regina; special Great Nieces and nephew, Andria Mathena, Colin Mathena and Mikala Simmons all of Roanoke.
The family would like to thank Blue Ridge Cancer Care, especially Dr. Paul Richards and the care takers at Berkshire Health Care Center and Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
A memorial service celebrating Margaret's life will be held 4:00pm Friday, November 26, 2010 in the chapel at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Ellsworth officiating.
