Obituary of April Mabe

Miss April Dawn Mabe, of Roanoke went to another place to make people laugh, just two days shy of her 41st birthday. In those short 41 years, April touched many lives and made a lasting impression on many. She was a 1992 graduate of the Roanoke County Occupational School and a former employee of Goodwill. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy S. and Bertha S. Mabe and Reggie E. and Reba C. Parks. Surviving are her mother, Freida Parks Mabe of Roanoke; father, Robert W. Mabe and wife Connie of Abingdon; brother, Robert "Rob" Mabe and wife Marcie of Glenn Dale, Maryland; niece, Kathryn "Katie Mabe; half brothers, Kregg and Kalan Mabe both of Abingdon; step sister, Tasha Trent and husband Josh. of Bristol; aunts and uncle, Aleta Blevins and husband Bobby; and Barbara Carrier; special friend ,Todd Selbe; devoted pet, Reggie, and numerous other friends, relatives, and special neighbors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the National Association for Down Syndrome or to the March of Dimes. A celebration of Miss April's life will held 2:15 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. On line condolences may be sent to www.simpsonfuneral.com.
