Elsie H. Jenkins, 89, of Roanoke, went to to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 14, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose Shoupe Harper; and her husband, Dallas R. Jenkins. She was a member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul E. and Brenda W. Jenkins, of Salem, Gene D. and Linda Jenkins, of Roanoke, Robert L. and Doris Jenkins of Bedford, and Lonnie W. and Linda Jenkins of Salem; seven grandchildren, Kimberley Campbell and husband, Byran, Jeff Jenkins and wife, Jenifer, Jason Jenkins, Angela Jenkins, Stacey Moody and husband, Robert, Kevin Jenkins, and Travis Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Olivia Campbell, and Jarrett Morefield and Helen Harper; brother, James Harper, all of Mountain City, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Green Hill Church of the Brethren, 2699 Harborwood Road, Salem, Va. 24153. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 pm on Monday, October 18,2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Shawn Tanner. Internment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
