Carlton J. (Whitey) Prillaman 86 of Bedford County went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2010. He was born and raised in Callaway Virginia which he was very proud of and was preceded by his parents, Lester H. and Ethel L. Saul Prillaman; daughter, Norma Jean Wertz; brother, Melvin Prillaman; sisters, Eva Kingery, Lula Webb, Edith Brown and Lillian Prillaman. Surviving are brother, Dewey E. Prillaman; grandsons, Stephen Wertz and wife Patricia, Bedford County, David Wertz and wife Tina, Bent Mountain; six great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Bennie Wertz, Roanoke County, sister-in-law Gertrude Prillaman, Roanoke ; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Salem V.A. for all their care and support during this time. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6-8pm at Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the funeral home.
