Patricia Cuffia (Pat) Rankin, 66, of Craig County, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 30, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. and Ruby Greenwald Cuffia. Mrs. Rankin received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia, her Masters was in Education from Virginia Tech and a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Virginia. She retired from Catawba Hospital. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, John Wilson "Jack" Ranking III; and brother, Richard Allen Cuffia and wife, Linda, of Wise County, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that memorials be made to Blue Ridge Behavioral Health Care, 301 Elm Avenue, SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24016. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Ernie Johnson. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 366-0707.
