Obituary of Rosa Heath

Rosa Mae Heath, 77, of Salem, affectionately known by many as Maw Maw or "the cake lady" went to heaven to be with her husband Absolam David Heath on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. In addtion to her husband she was preceded by her parents, five brothers and four sisters. Rosa Mae was an avid Salem High School football fan. Her other favorite sports teams inlcued the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of Melrose Baptist Church. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son and daughter in law, David and Jan Heath; daughter and son in law, Donna and Tom Hall all of Salem; grandchilden, Amy Crawford and husband Jeremy, Katherine Heath and fiance Ty Lawson all of Roanoke; Daniel Hall and Travis Hall both of Salem; great grandchildren, Nicholas Crawford and David Steven Crawford; sisters, Ora Farris of Vinton; Doris St. Clair of Roanoke; brothers, Olin and Horace Pendleton both of Bedford. A very special thanks to the entire staff at Snyder's Nursing Home in Salem for the wonderful care they provided for our mom. Words cannot express our appreciation for all that you did to make mom's last days as pleasant and comfortable as they could be. You are all very special people. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Larry Sprouse and the Rev. Brenda Rowe. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
