On August 4, 2010, Charlie A. Rucker Jr., 54, of Roanoke Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ginger Rucker; three daughters, Brandi Rucker and partner, TJ, Missy Hall and partner, Clay and Ginny Crockett; five grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Bradley, Kayli, and Brendan; sister, Sandy Rucker, and partner, Tim; brother, Richard Rucker and wife, Terry; and along with three very close friend, Buddy, Mike, and Bob. Thank you for all your love and support and special thanks to Kitty, Alan, Pat, Ginny and Amanda, all of the Carilion Hospice for taking care of Charlie. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Carilion Hospice in Charlies name. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 2 pm today, Friday, August 6, 2010, in the Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, with Chaplin Roger Graves officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1pm until service time. Interment will be private. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, (540) 366-0707.
