William Henry Jordan, 87, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010. He was born on August 1, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late June and Olive Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jan Scott Jordan. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Navratil Jordan; son, William "Bill" Jordan and wife, Norma; grandson, Brad Jordan; and great-grandson, Tai Holbrook. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Nottingham, Julie LeGault, the staff on 2 West at Friendship Manor, Juanita, Angie and Mark, special friend, Tony Bushnell, and all the CNAs who showed compassion while providing excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission. At Mr. Jordan's request there will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010, in the chapel at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens, 7271 Cloverdale Road with the Rev. Matthew Ricks officiating.
