Obituary of Margaret Duckworth

Margaret Mattox Duckworth, 83 of Roanoke (the widow of Robert Duckworth, Sr. went to heaven on Saturday, October 18, 2014. She was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Percey and Lucy Harrell Mattox; brothers, P.J. and wife Minnie, Gilbert, and wife Tiny; sister, Leola and husband Fred Fisher; two sons, Robert (Bobby) and Donald Duckworth. Surviving are two sons, Barry Duckworth and wife Sheila of Johnson City, Tenn., David Duckworth; daughter-in-law, Laura Duckworth, wife of Robert (Bobby) Jr. deceased whom she considered a daughter and special in every way, a special granddaughter who became her caregiver during her illness and made her life happier, Stacy Duckworth Lynch and her husband Claude; six very loved grandsons, Jeffrey and wife Pamela, Robert, III, Janson and wife Robyn, Tyler, Harley, and Ethan Duckworth; great grandchildren, Dakota, Wyatt, Wren and Zachary Duckworth, Dakota and Josiah Wienges. She was proud of all of her grandchildren. She had one dear sister, Nell; several nephews and nieces, and three long time friends, Margaret (Tweetie) Lyon, Patricia Myers and Barbara Lawhorn. All of her family and friends were special to her. The Lord truly blessed her during her live on earth. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. TUESDAY, October 21, 2014 at Ridgewood Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy Kanode . Private entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Memorial gifts to Ridge wood Baptist Church 703 Hemlock Road Roanoke, Va. 24017 will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
