Obituary of Cyril Edwards

Cyril George Edwards, Jr. 48 of Roanoke passed away at his home on Friday September 12, 2014. He was born in Danville, VA on July 27, 1966. His father, Cyril George Edwards, Sr., preceded him. Cyril was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking, NASCAR, and was very devoted to his children. Although he struggled with his health, he never gave up. He was a brave and extraordinary person, who will be dearly missed. Family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. John Hagy and Pastor Horace Light for all they have done. Surviving are his wife, Margaret E. Edwards; mother, Hilda S. Thurston; children, Cyril R. Edwards and his wife Danielle, Johnathan Edwards, Chance Edwards, Angie Edwards; sisters, Cindy Ferris and husband Mark of Vinton, Sonya Leigh and husband Frank of Roanoke, Kay Munday and husband Gary of Roanoke, Robin Staton and husband Ronnie of Buena Vista, Lisa Pugh and husband Rick of Ga.; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. A service celebrating Cyril's life will be held 11:00am Tuesday September 16, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Horace light officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00pm in the Hill Family Cemetery, Natural Bridge Station. Friends may visit with the family on Monday September 15, 2014 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
