Uncle Dave was obedient and faithful to the call God placed on his life. He loved doing what God called him to do and he did it with all of his heart. I will always remember his sense of humor. Growing up in Malawi my family spent a lot of time with the Fannins. On one occasion I can remember Damian, Doug, and I were at an open air market in Lilongwe with Uncle Dave. Uncle Dave was holding a live chicken by it's two feet together bartering for a lower price and laughing with the vendor. He ended up getting it for almost nothing because of the gift he had of connecting with people one their level. I'm thankful to God for Uncle Dave and his example to me. Uncle Dave recently heard Father say to him, "well done thy good and faithful servant" because he finished his race faithfully! His life challenges us all to finish the race God has chosen for us faithfully!
