Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With grief and sadness, we announce the passing of our brother, Richard T. Goller 70 of Roanoke. Richard passed away Monday September 8, 2014 after a brave and graceful fight against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 9, 1944. Richard was preceded by his parents, Edwin C. and Mary H. Goller. He is survived by his brother, Edwin J. Goller and his wife Ana; an aunt, Mildred Knutson; a niece, Maria Luci and her husband Brendon; as well as numerous cousins and friends. Among which his cousins, Barbara Abbot and Ruth Ann Brinster held a special place in Richard's heart. Richard graduated from Lawrence Central Catholic High School and received a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Math from Merrimack College and the University of New Hampshire, respectively. He completed all course work for his PH.D., but in typical Richard, fashion never completed his dissertation. The majority of his professional career was in the classroom teaching mathematics at the college level, his last assignment was eighteen years at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. He worked for ten years in the defense industry at Sanders, Assoc. in Nashua, N.H. Richard was a loving and caring individual with a wonderful sense of humor, which he kept until the end. He had many hobbies, including skiing, cycling, genealogy, oil painting and collecting. Richard will be missed by many and will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the American Civil Liberties Union, a charity Richard always supported. A service celebrating Richard's life will be held later this week in Pelham, N.H. Local arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
