Ettie Belle Shockley 66 of Roanoke went to rest in the arms of the Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday August 16, 2014. She was preceded by her parents, Foster and Margaret Hartley and brothers, Jimmy Creasy and Ned Bennett. Ettie Belle is survived by a large amount of loving family and close friends, including, Cynthia, and Thomas Thompson and their family, Robert Creasy, Sophie Brown, Larry Hairston, and Sophia Brown and sons. Betty Jean Huffman, and Laura Ann Bloush. Ettie Belle was always the foundation of her family; she was an amazing person who always gave to those around her. There was nothing she was not willing to do for her family and friends. Always smiling and offering hugs. Ettie Belle was an inspiration to those around her and it was an honor and a blessing to have her in our lives. May she rest in eternal peace. "We love you to the moon and back". A service celebrating Ettie Belle's life will be held 11:00am Tuesday August 19, 2014 in Simpson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Monday August 18, 2014 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
