Obituary of Pamela Jones

Pamela Grubbs Jones, 69, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson Early Grubbs and her husband Larry Douglas Jones. She was a 1963 graduate of William Fleming High School. Pam and numerous other class members were active in the planning of reunion events. She retired from Freedom First Credit Union after thirty plus years of service and was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Lynnanne Catron and husband Billy and their children Meaghan and Hallie Catron; son, Chip Basham, wife Cyndee and their children, Zoe and Kent Basham; mother, Elaine Grubbs; a very special aunt and uncle, Bill and Nancy Wingfield; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and the ladies that helped care for Pam during her illness. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Road Roanoke, Va. 24018. A memorial service will be conducted noon Monday, August 11, 2014 at North Roanoke Baptist Church 6402 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Darryl G. Crim. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday at North Roanoke Baptist Church. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
