Robert (Bob) Morris, 85, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, July 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents John O. and Maggie Ferguson Morris, four brothers, and five sisters. Mr Morris retired after 47 years of service with the Norfolk Southern Corporation. He was an avid woodworker. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Catherine (Kitty) Morris; children, Lynne (David) White, Danny Morris, Debra (Ernie) Peer, Marc (Pam) Morris; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Hypes, brother, Jack Morris; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Salem Senior Citizen's Center 110 Union Street Salem, Va. 24153. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
