His wife of 57 years, Lucille C. Blevins, and a daughter, Rebecca Jane Powell, preceded him. Mr. Blevins served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II, and is a member of the American Legion Victory Post 248. He was a retired truck driver with over 28 years of service to McClean and Midland Trucking. He attended Brambleton Baptist Church for over 17 years, where he was well known in the Amen Corner. A very loving and devoted Christian, father, grandfather, and friend who always put others first, never met a stranger, always seen with a smile on his face and had a laughter that filled up the room. He was an encourager to others; all will be dearly miss by all. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Anita Kay Janney and husband Roger; grandchildren, Kimberly Janney and Dale Janney; a dear friend, Jean Arrington, along with many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses at CRMH, 9th floor, the 10th floor Palliative Care Unit, Heartland in Home Health Care and Springtree Health and Rehab for all their care and support during this time. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Missions, c/o Brambleton Baptist Church, 4313 Old Cave Spring Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018 in his memory.
