Katherine (Kathy) Nester, 68, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Grace Virginia Bowling White, brothers, Gene and Harry White, and an infant sister, Jesse Myrtle White. Surviving are her husband, William A. "Willie" Nester; sons, J. Wayne Shrader, Thomas Shrader and wife Deb, William Shrader and wife Kristia; grandchildren, Chris Shrader, Kenna Shrader, and Zach Shrader; brother, Jack White and wife Peggy; sister, Mary Powers; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the SPCA 1340 Baldwin Avenue Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 in the mausoleum chapel at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service.
