Leslie Countiss Foster, 65, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 18, 2014. She was born May 22, 1949, in Bristol, Virginia, and was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mavis Countiss. Leslie is survived by her sister, Ellen Allmon, of Roanoke; her nephew and wife, Shannon and Kelly Allmon and great niece, Julia Allmon, of Baltimore, Md.; she is also survived by dear friends, Roxanne Gray, Dorothy Argenbright, and Rachel Rice of Roanoke. Leslie attended King College in Bristol, and worked for The Postal Service in Roanoke for over 30 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2012. Her quick wit and generosity will be missed by all those close to her. A memorial service will be held at Preston Oaks Baptist Church, 102 Preston Avenue, Roanoke, VA, at noon on Saturday, July 26, 2014, with Worship Pastor Steve Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:15 AM before the service. Her ashes will be scattered in a special service on August 17, 2014, at 11:30am in Steele Creek Park, 4 Little Lane, Bristol, TN 37620. As Leslie was such a lover of animals, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke Valley SPCA,1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24012, or Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016.
