Obituary of Meleta Moran

Meleta Jane Ledford Moran, 87, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and retired from the Kroger Company. She is now with her husband of 68 years. Meleta Jane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sebert A. Moran, her parents, James Vernon Ledford and Vergie Bell Ledford Sifford and Stepfathers, James Harvey Sifford, and Earl Sifford. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Vernon Ledford, Jr., and his wife Betty, Howard and wife Lucy, Boyd and wife Morine, and sister Oeda Ledford McCoy and husband Donald; he half brothers Clayton, Bobbie, and Donnie Sifford, and Half sisters Vera Lue and Joann Sifford Carroll. Meleta Jane was survived by her beloved daughter Myra Gail Moran, her grandchildren Michael Shane Moran Briggs and wife Genevieve, Niki Briggs Voudren and husband Eric; great-grandchildren Olivia Shae Briggs. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Friday, July 18, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, with a memorial service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Alderman officiating.
