Please share a memory of Hazel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hazel Virginia Robinson Cash, precious child of God, claimed the Promise of the Resurrection on July 9, 2014 after 92 years of blessings. She was a resident of Roanoke.
Hazel was born March 16, 1922, to Dr. William D. and Emma Ringer Robinson in Collierstown, Virginia. She resided in Cowen, West Virginia during her youth. Hazel moved to Roanoke in 1944, and after World War II ended, she married her best friend and the love of her life for 68 years, Iverson M. Cash, Jr. (Buddy).

She was a member of Melrose Avenue United Methodist Church where she taught the Toddler Sunday School Class, served as choir mother and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts and the UMYF and she served on the PTA Executive Board for many years. Most recently, Hazel was a member of Southview United Methodist Church. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter, winning prizes for her quilts. She loved gardening and grew all kinds of plants, from wildflowers to hybrids. She was particularly proud of her collection of over 200 varieties of irises.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, William Robinson (Eva), Boyd Robinson (Wanda), Clinton Robinson, and sister, Ernestine Mason (Walter) and her son-in-love, Paul Armentrout, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Buddy Cash, her daughters Patricia Armentrout , Barbara James (Paul), grandchildren, David Crossley, Kathryn Armentrout, Paul Armentrout, III (Lynnette), John Armentrout, great grandchildren Monty Armentrout (Stephanie) and their children Holly and Jameson, Elizabeth Armentrout and Gary Armentrout. Ford at Southview United Methodist Church, 3539 Peters Creek Road, NW on Saturday, July 12 at 11:30 and will conclude at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
