Iris Sisson Hunt, 95, of Salem (formerly of Christiansburg) went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall A. and Roxie Manning Sission, husband, Oba M. Hunt, and son-in-law, Wayne Britt. She was a longtime member of Christiansburg Presbyterian Church and a member of the McDaniel Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Iris retired from the Montgomery County Treasurers office after 30 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, John H. Britt; grandchildren, Kimberly Dorton and husband David, Adam Britt and wife Andra, Allen Britt and wife Amanda; great grandchildren, Alexandra Britt, Brittney Dorton, Abigail Britt, Samuel Dorton, Anna Stuart Britt, Katherine Dorton, and Nicholas Britt; sister, Cleo S. DeWeese; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to either Christiansburg Presbyterian Church or to New Hope Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Cameron Smith. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery.
