Obituary of Theresa Buterbaugh
Please share a memory of Theresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Theresa M. Buterbaugh 57 of Roanoke lost her battle with cancer on Saturday July 5, 2014.
Theresa had a very strong Christian faith and love, and died here at home with her loving family, caring for and taking care of her until the moment she entered heaven.
Surviving are her loving and caring husband Jeffrey; two children, Joshua David, a veteran of the United States Navy married to Ashley Murray Buterbaugh, Brittney Ann married to Ricky Anthony Wade; two grandchildren, her pride and joy, Xavier and Tacoma; along with her very dear and close friend, Dr. John W. Priddy. Theresa is preceded by her father, Martin Naugle and her sister, Kathy Stockdall.
Theresa and Jeff had a small Mom and Pop Painting business in the Roanoke Valley since 1989. Theresa loved and enjoyed her painting and helping to renovate properties add adding beauty to the valley with her work. She would donate all the leftover paint each month to senior citizens and those in need. Theresa and Jeff have passed the Painting business down to Brittney and Ricky to continue the loving tradition of painting the beautiful Roanoke Valley.
Theresa was an advocate for children, helping to clothe and feed many, and sundry troubled, homeless and needing children. Theresa always had two or three single mothers with children that she would help all year long with clothes, food, and or money. She would take and pay for any child's doctor's appointment who needed medicine. Her favorite charities were the Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans, and the Red Cross. From 1981 to 1991, when Theresa worked at Maidbess, she would donate 10% of each paycheck to the Red Cross, along with blood donations several times each year and was featured on Maidbess' blood drive commercial.
Theresa favorite love was helping Angels from various Angel's trees around the valley each Christmas. Here favorite hobby was knitting Afghans for those in need and as very special gifts for those, she loved. One of her loved personal charities was, painting the interiors of senior citizens homes in the valley at no cost to them. Saying a smile on their face was all she needed. A member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Roanoke. Came from a loving family of Christian brothers and sisters at South Roanoke United Methodist Church.
