The Rev. Holley M. Hensley, 95, of Elliston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Garland, Harlan, and Vernon, sister, Sylvia Marie Jarvis, and a daughter, Frances Marie Hensley-Bales. Mr. Hensley served in the U S Army for six years and later served as a local Pastor in the United Methodist Church retiring after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Betty Ruth Hensley; daughters, Betty Keaton and Karen Parrish; grandchildren, Jackie Clark, Randy Parker, and Heather Brand; great grandchildren, Billy Simmons, Jonathan, Jacob, and Joseph Clark, Randall Parker, and Fiona Brand; great great grandson, Caleb Simmons; sisters, Sondra Blackshire, Janice Mary Fields, Zelma Smith, and Frances Urbanik; brother, Basil Aaron Hensley and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Lafayette United Methodist Church by the Rev. Elwood Carwile. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday in Sherwood Memorial Park by the Rev. Wayne Carter. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
