Gary William Wygal, Jr., 56, of Salem passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. Gary was born November 10, 1957 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his sister, Vicki Wygal; nieces, Samantha and Paige Stinson; and aunt, Frances Turner, all of Salem. He is now with his parents, who preceded him, Gary Wygal, Sr. and Ninevah Wygal; along with an aunt, Barbara Jean Turman; and uncle, Arlen Wygal. Gary was a graduate of Glenvar High School, where he was a member of the band. He was also a member of Fort Lewis Baptist Church, and was an employee at the Stuart McGuire Company, and Whitt Carpet and Tile for several years. The hobbies he enjoyed were keeping stats of NASCAR, listening to classic rock, and creating artwork and using his artistic abilities for home projects. The family will receive friends Wednesday May 21, 2014 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. A memorial service celebrating Gary's life will be held 2:00pm Thursday May 22, 2014 in Goodwin Memorial United Methodist Church, 5791 West River Road, Salem, Virginia the Rev. James S. Angle officiating.
