Elizabeth "Betty" Conner, 88 of Roanoke passed away Monday, January 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband James Conner, parents, Harry Thomas and Elsie Argenbright Morris; brother, Harry T. Morris, Jr., and a niece, Kimberly Sue Morris Hedrick. Mrs. Conner was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital for many years. Surviving are her sons, Jeff Conner and wife Kathy, Larry Conner and wife Rhonda, Mark Conner and wife Jeannie, Greg Conner; brother, Donald P. Morris and wife Jean; sisters, Marian Lawler of Salem, Jeanine Armstrong and husband James of Clifton Forge; nieces, Dale Fitzgerald and husband Anthony, Gina Hambrick and husband Robert, Debbie Cunningham, Terry Armstrong; nephew, Randy West; special friends, Gracie White, Sandi Driscoll, Bill McNeil, Marty Painter, Chuck and Sandy Foley. Renea LaTempa, Cora Bandy; beloved cat, Gabbi; and numerous much loved grandchildren and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Angels of Assisi, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, January 13, 2012 in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens by Chaplain Troy Mays. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00pm Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home.
