Dorothy (Dot) Myers, 89, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clayton Myers. Dot was a member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She retired from Eli Lilly and was an avid bowler at North 11 Lanes. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Sink and husband Wayne; son, Wayne Myers and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Kimberly Bratton and husband Paul, Robyn Rader and husband Christopher, Travis Myers and wife Jami, Brian Myers and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Maegan and Morgan Bratton, Lindy Myers, Hayley Rader, Austin Myers, and Grayson Myers and a devoted cousin Anna Murray. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Preston Oaks Baptist Church 102 Preston Avenue Roanoke, Va. 24012 or to Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Road Roanoke, Va. 24018. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
