Virginia Ellen Ziegler, 83, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 7, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Ziegler, sister Peggy and brother, Howard. Mrs. Ziegler was a charter member of Bethany Christian Church. Surviving are her son, Alan Ziegler and wife Sunny of Roanoke; grandchildren, Hailey Ziegler, Ronica Richardson, and Nicole Richardson; sisters in law, Butch Burrows and Betty Ziegler; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road Roanoke, Virginia 24018. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Elaine Austin. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
