Obituary of Herbert Wines

Herbert H. "Herbie" Wines, Jr. 58 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2011. He was born on June 23, 1953 in Blackstone and was raised in Fauquier County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Rice Wines; grandmother, Erva Wines; brothers, Larry and Charles Wines and grandchildren Nathan and Alysia. He was a former employee of Martin Brothers and at the time of his death he served as a warehouse manager for Building Specialties. Herbie was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend time hunting and fishing with his many friends. He was also a friend of Bill W. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Deborah Shultzaberger Wines; sons, Buddy Wines of Florida; Gregory Wines of Roanoke; Michael Wines of Roanoke; father, Herbert H. Wines, Sr.; sisters Debra and Janet; brothers, Randy and Daniel; grandchildren, Ashley, Dominic, Koden, Summer and Izabella; special aunt, Joyce Hardy and best friend, Stan McHone. A special thanks to the staff of Cariliion Hospice for all of their acts of kindness and support. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Chaplain Roger Graves. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
