Delores Conner Bauman of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer J. and Effie Cole Conner, husband, William "Bill" Bauman, nephew, Michael Conner and wife Jane. Mrs. Bauman was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Vaden and husband Richard of Roanoke; Dana Horan and husband Christopher of Fincastle; grandchildren, Kara Marks, Marla Turner, and Haleigh Horan; great grandchildren, Taya and Melody Marks; brother, Edsel Conner and wife Doris; mother-in-law, Vergie Bauman; sister-in-law, Pat Sledd and husband Mike, all of Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends too numerous to mention. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road Roanoke, Va. 24018. Weather permitting, funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Darryl G. Crim and the Rev. Sandra Conner. (If the services need to be rescheduled due to inclement weather, you may receive updated information by going to www.simpsonfuneral.com or by calling 366-0707) Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
