Obituary of David Hardy

David Wayne (Dave) Hardy 74 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Dave was born February 10, 1939 in Covington, Virginia a son of the late Lester Odell and Mary Simpson Hardy. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Hardy Wisekal. Surviving are his beloved wife Norma Anderson Hardy, and devoted daughters, Teressa and Kelly Hardy; a sister Shirley Ann Worrell and husband Bob; brothers, John Milton "Mickey" Hardy and wife Jean, and Richard Carlton Hardy and wife Velma. Dave also leaves many loving nieces and nephews who admire and respect him and will miss him dearly. Dave served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1959, stationed at Fort Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a successful business man as well as an avid outdoors man. He loved hiking and photography and enjoyed hunting and fishing most of his life. He and his wife, Norma are members of Journey Church in Roanoke, Va. He is a beloved family man and he is remembered by so many friends and family as a man of character and integrity with a surprising wit and unmistakable charm. Dave's greatest desire was that his life would be a reflection of God's love and anyone who ever knew him knows that to be true. He will be greatly missed.
