Obituary of James Crismond

James Douglas (Doug) Crismond 46 of Fincastle. Virginia passed away Monday November 25, 2013, peacefully after a 3 year battle with Melanoma. Doug, was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on January 19, 1967. He attended Stafford High School and graduated from Hanau America HS in Germany. He spent his whole life in construction, building, and remodeling homes. A master of his craft, he could do and fix anything. He loved his family, his friends, and was a avid hunter. His gifts in life were his sense of humor, his personality, and his willingness to give and do for others without hesitation. Your time, your love, and your company were all he desired from his family and friends. Doug is survived by his children, Kendra, Taylor, Sheridan, Kaitlin, and Kourie; his parents, Wanda and Edward Shimko; brother, Barry Bright, Jr; his sister, Daria and brother-in-law, Bryan VanRavestein; nieces, Darden Goode, Morgan Bright and Kennedi VanRavenstein; nephews, Camden Goode and Aaron VanRavenstein. He is also survived by his father, Jimmy Crismond; half-sisters, Rhonda and Kristie Crismond. He is also survived by a number of loyal friends that have been by his side throughout his battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, perform a random act of kindness toward a treasured friend or stranger; or a memorial donation made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice. A memorial service celebrating Doug's life will be held 2:00pm Wednesday November 27, 2013 in Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor David Fraser officiating.
