Although I cannot think about Mrs. Robbins' death without tears ... it's hard for me to be truly "sad" ... because I can only imagine how she is rejoicing with her beloved Jesus! I'll bet Donna is so excited to be home with Him.
I have known Mrs. Robbins' for a long time (I am a cousin of Jamie's ex-wife, Missy) ... but it wasn't until May 2013 that she DEEPLY touched my life. I call it a "divine appointment," really. By a series of unexpected events, I found myself at Cheddars by Valley View. My family ran into Donna and her family having lunch. During this meeting, I shared with her about my 3 year old son, Jackson, who was born with a rare deformity called Progressive Infantile Scoliosis. We talked awhile about his treatments and about prayer needs. Donna assured me that she and her intercessory prayer team at church would spend time praying for Jackson.
Only a few days later ... we took our son to Shriners for a follow up appointment. Completely unexpectedly, his doctor took an x-ray of Jackson's spine. Our son, who began treatment at age 16 months with a spinal curvature of over 50 degrees ... now had a spinal curvature of ZERO! The doctor congratulated us and deemed Jackson "cured." After 9 body casts over 2 years, Jackson was able to "graduate" into a TLSO brace. Immediately, I thought of my chance meeting with Donna and of her prayer team. I could not wait to thank them and to share the good news!
I am so thankful for that time with Donna ... and for her tireless service of our Lord. SHE WAS A TRUE CHRISTIAN EXAMPLE. Mrs. Robbins didn't fake her walk with the Lord. She lived it out daily ... through her words, her spirit, her deeds, and her devotion to God's people. I am so thankful that she lifted my son up in prayer!
I know it was God who chose to heal Jackson. However, I also know that the Bible tells us in James 5:16 that "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." I am certain that Mrs. Robbins' prayers were heard because they were spoken with a pure heart.
Donna, without a doubt, touched every person she met. I am so blessed to have been one of them!

Dear Steven and family, I am sending my heartfelt condolences to you and your loved ones on the passing of Donna. I remember the many conversations I had with her while we were visiting New Life Christian Ministries (NLT) on furlough from Africa. I am so sorry for your loss. Donna was a wonderful woman and a great encouraged all who knew her. May the God of all comfort wrap His loving arms around you. It was just two years ago last month that my husband Dave traveled through this valley. I know he is rejoicing with Jesus and has a part to welcome Donna "home." God bless you all...prayers and love from Hungary..Linda Fannin
