Betty Sprinkel Woody, 79, of Daleville went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 15, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Sprinkel, brother Richard Sprinkel, husband, James Thomas Woody and son, David Lee Woody. For many years Betty worked as a bus driver for the Botetourt County School System. Surviving are her children, Thomas Edward Woody of Daleville; Gary Clayton Woody and wife Diane of Roanoke; Debbie Boyd and husband Ronald of Fincastle; Teresa Hays and husband John of Daleville; Michael Woody and wife Emily of Salem; grandchildren, Whitney Boyd, Kimberly Elmore, Russell Woody, Jonathan Entsminger, Sara Hayes, Austin Woody, and Amanda Woody; sisters, Eddie Mae Rader and husband Robert of Roanoke; Nellie (Brugh) Zaun and husband Sonny of Richmond; Sue Markham and husband Glen of Roanoke; special friends, Sandy and Jaiden Dann; and her devoted K-9 companion, Max. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. William Fintel and the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their many acts of kindness and compassion during Betty's illness. A celebration of Betty's life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at Troutville Baptist Church with the Rev. Carol Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 p.m. until service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
