Obituary of Nola Adams Wheeler

Nola Jean Adams Wheeler, 90, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Lillian Adams; sons Jacky Thompson and Tim Overstreet; and siblings Tommy Adams, Brenda Burton, Dana Bruns, Steve Adams, and Linda Osborne.

Left to cherish Nola’s memory are her sons Terry Thompson and wife Zoe Ann, Mark Thompson and wife Sharon, Chris Overstreet and husband Bill Potter; her siblings June Bothelo who was a devoted and loving sister and constant companion, Roger Adams and wife Wandaleen, and Pam Morris and husband Al, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Nola adored and treasured her sons and family more than anything on earth. She was a loving and doting mom whose greatest pleasure was cooking and preparing delicious meals for her family. She enjoyed attending Grandin Court Baptist Church.

Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 4:30 PM at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel, with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the donor’s favorite charity in Nola’s memory.
