Wayne is my older brother. I grew up a state away from him and he already had a family of his own by the time I was born. Whether it was him visiting me in Tennessee or me going to see him in Roanoke, we always got along great and I received nothing but love and guidance from him.
One of the more memorable times of my childhood involved Wayne. He and his family came on a surprise (at least to me it was) visit and took our mom, sister and me to Myrtle Beach, SC. It was my first time I saw an ocean and I think I'll never forget that.
As I grew up, moved out west and started a family of my own, our communication with each other became less and less and I regret that. However I know this: I love my brother and he loved me.
It's difficult to know that if I did pick up the phone, that I could not speak to him now. However, it brings peace to my heart that I will see him again in the presence of the Lord in heaven because my brother knew Jesus.
To Tracy and all the family I encourage you to lean in on Jesus and depend on Him for comfort, peace and healing during this devastating time. I love you guys.
