Obituary of Faye Hartman Amos

Faye Hartman Amos, 81, of Vinton joined hands with her parents in heaven on Friday, February 2, 2024.  She was born April 28, 1942 in Roanoke, Virginia, a daughter of the late James W. and Lily S. Hartman.

Surviving is her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Billy G. Amos; siblings Deanna Chambers (Jim), Rebecca H. Norris (Larry); James W. Hartman, Jr. (Ann) and six nieces and nephews.

Faye was raised in Boones Mill, VA and graduated from Cave Spring High School.  Upon graduation she went to work at Appalachian Power Company where she became the benefits coordinator for the entire American Electric System.  She was a member of the Big Lick RV club and of Ryan's Case for Smiles (an organization that sews pillow cases for children that are in the hospital).

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 6, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Mike Hudson.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
