Marvin T. Bratton, 87, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Bratton; stepmother, Ola Bratton; son, Mark Bratton; grandson, Jacob Bratton; brothers, George Bratton Jr., Frank Bratton, and Samuel Bratton; and sisters, Agnes Lugar, Peggy LaRue, and Rachel Hogan.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia Bratton; sons, George Perry Bratton, William Keith Bratton (Kamonchanok), and Paul Bratton (Kimberly); daughter-in-law, Debbie Bratton; grandchildren, Trevor Bratton (Kasey), Heidi Hodges (Josh), Bryan Bratton (Mekayla), Alesha Bratton, Maegan Kessler (Sean), Morgan Bratton (Joel Thomas), Scott Harvey, and Josh Lowry; great grandchildren, Matthew Harvey, Joshua Hodges Jr., Amelia Hodges, Oakley Hodges, Allyson Kessler, and Oliver Lacy.

Marvin was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1953-1956. He served in Korea as a Staff Sergeant and was a dedicated husband, father, loyal provider, and supporter of his family. He served as a deacon at Hollins Road Baptist Church, where he had attended for the past 28 years.  Marvin also loved spending time with his family, watching sports, and was a lifelong Redskins fan.

The family will have a Graveside Service on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00pm in the Mausoleum of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Rd NW, Roanoke, VA 24012.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hollins Road Baptist Church 3502 Old Mountain Rd NE, Roanoke, VA 24019 or to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).
