Obituary of Marvin Lee Gilliam

Marvin Lee Gilliam, 83, husband of Jessie Stegall Gilliam, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2024. He was the son of the late John Lee and Odessa Bernice Alexander Gilliam.

Marvin was a veteran of the United States Navy and later worked as a Computer Systems Analyst. He loved the Lord and was a member of Southview United Methodist Church, now known as Genesis Church, for 33 years. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Catawba Masonic Lodge #342.

In addition to his wife of 61 years he will be missed and remembered by his daughters, Hope Underwood and Annette Parker; grandchildren, Matthew Dudding, Faith Osborne, Samuel Gillispie II, Madeline Nicely; great-grandchildren, Daniel Osborne, and June Dudding; sister, Anna Agee (Philip).

A Celebration of Marvin's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Genesis Church, 3539 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019, formerly Southview United Methodist Church. The family will speak to friends following the service at the church.
