Faye Rene Williams Scott, 81, of Roanoke, (formally of Fincastle and Indianola, MS) passed away, early Wednesday, January 17, 2024, with close family by her side. She was preceded in death and reunited with her husband of 61 years, Ron Scott Sr; parents, Frank Williams Sr., and Inez Williams Peacock.

Faye was a graduate of Indianola High School. Her most liked activity there was participating in the Indianola High School Band, where she was chosen to be a majorette for all four years. Faye mastered the most difficult instrument, the obo, and was granted the privilege to participate in the concert band which brought home many medals from state competitions. She then attended Mississippi Delta Junior College, where she met her future husband, Ron Scott. They Married in January of 63 and moved to St. Louis for 2 years before moving to Virginia. She lived in Roanoke and was busy raising her two sons, being heavily involved in cosmetics, and managing the Virginias Junior Miss pageants through the 70’s. Her family ended up in Fincastle, Virginia for 47 years while she adjusted to country life. Faye started working with a top rate food brokerage company, named Joe Dell Brokerage. She was heavily involved in the local food service industry, and she was instrumental in bringing fresh catfish from her home state of Mississippi to large supermarket chains among other accomplishments in that industry. She was an avid tennis player and loved the sport so much she and Ron built a tennis court and a “tennis shack” where she loved to teach and play with her grandsons and hosted events there for years. Faye loved the low country in Callawassie Island, South Carolina where they could stay active with tennis and golf all year round and make many more new friends she was still in contact with.

Faye was the heart and soul of the Scott family and arranged everything for them until the day she passed. She is survived by her two sons, Ron Scott Jr. (Angela Payne), Jeff Scott, (Pam); grandsons, Jeffrey and Jackson Scott; sister Charlotte Williams Peacock; brother, Frank Williams Jr. (Patsy) of Mississippi; as well as numerous  other close family and friends to mention.

The family wishes to thank everyone who reached out to her in the last several months when her husband passed, as well as the many years before.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in Faye’s name to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Breast Cancer Awareness, or Prostate Cancer Research Center.
