Barbara Solomon “Big H” Harrison, 86, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 13, 2024.  She was preceded by her husband, Raymond L. Harrison; brother, Edward Solomon; and parents, Mary Ennis and Hunter Joseph Solomon.

Barbara was a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School and attended National Business College.  She worked for General Electric and later retired from the Roanoke Moose Lodge.  She was an avid Notre Dame Sports fan and had coached basketball at New Castle High School.

Surviving are her children, David Kibler (Cathy), Mark Harrison (Stacey), and Renee Harrison Popielarz (Richard); grandchildren, Samantha Kibler Hill (Josh), Allison Kibler, Brandon Kibler, Logan Harrison (Madee), Bryce Harrison, Conner Popielarz, and Justin Popielarz; great grandchildren, Jack Hill and Baylor Harrison; sister, Dorothy Rogers; sister in law, Peggy Nimmo;  numerous nieces and nephews including, Susan Solomon and Michelle Wilson.

A memorial service will be held Noon, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  540 366 0707
