Obituary of Janovee Cook Miller

Janovee Cook Miller, 98, widow of Isaac E. Miller, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Lockey Barber Cook. In addition to her husband of 63 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Isaac Miller, III and his wife Wilma, Carolyn Ratliff and her husband Tommy, Cathy S. Thompson; a grandson, Nicholas Miller; and all of her siblings.

She was a charter member of Seneca Baptist Church and remained faithful to her Lord and her church throughout her life.

She will be missed and remembered by her children, Dewey Cook and wife Sharlene, Jimmy Miller and wife Cindy, Ronnie Miller and wife Amy, Charlotte Paitsel and husband Larry; 13 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services to honor her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Seneca Baptist Church c/o Missions Fund.
